A New Knowing

In Soul by Caleb

There’s a knowing that goes far deeper than the mind.

“Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.” (Psalm 46:10)

It starts with being still. Then, when we’re still enough, or have unique experiences that break through the clutter and noise of “normal life,” we begin to know something at our core. It’s more than cognitive understanding. It’s bigger than doctrines or dogmas. It’s different than applied data.

There’s a knowing that comes with stillness and paying attention that connects us—in a mysterious way—to the eternal whisper of our Creator—the Maker of all things.

It’s a little like being in love and deciding that you “know” this is your forever-person. “How can you be sure,” you are asked. “I just know,” you respond. It’s a little like that.

Stillness, it seems, opens the door to that deep knowing.
